Allen of Pueblo West, Colo., didn’t make his entry with a brush or a lump of clay. He created it with Midjourney, a man-made intelligence program that turns strains of text into hyper-realistic graphics. The painting, titled La Patience , is being sold as part of the Sotheby’s Modern Evening public sale in New York, with proceeds going in the path of future acquisitions at the museum.
